Redact your legal documents before you send them

Is a file going to a technical expert, co-counsel or a consultant?

NymData detects and redacts the names of your client and third parties in contracts, correspondence and exhibits.

The expert gets the facts they need, and the layout is preserved.

Nothing goes through an online service.

How do you redact legal documents before sharing them?

You redact the names, contact details, dates and identifiers of the parties and third parties in each document, while keeping the facts needed for the analysis.

With NymData, installed on your own servers, you select the case folder.

Each document, in PDF or Word, is processed and a redacted copy is created, with an audit report.

The original documents stay at the firm.

The use case

An expert needs the facts, not your client's identity

A lawyer brings in a technical expert to shed light on a dispute.

The expert has to read the contracts, correspondence and reports, but client confidentiality means sharing no more than necessary.

Client confidentiality

Only the information the expert needs leaves the firm, without the names of the client or third parties.

Large case files

Dozens of documents in different formats: the whole case file is processed at once.

Readable documents

The PDF keeps its layout, the Word document its styles: the expert reads usable documents.

Framework

Good to know

Original documents are never changed: they stay at the firm, and only the redacted copy is sent.

Processing happens on your own servers: no document is handed to an online service for redaction, which keeps the case file confidential.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are the original documents changed?

No. NymData creates a redacted copy in a separate folder: the original documents stay intact at the firm.

Can the expert still understand the case file?

Yes. Only the data that identifies people is redacted: the facts, the dates that matter for the technical analysis and the layout stay readable.

An allow list lets you keep the terms you need.

Are documents sent outside for redaction?

No. NymData is installed on your own servers: no document is sent to NymData or to any cloud service.

Can we process a whole case file?

Yes. You select the folder: each document, in PDF or Word, is processed, and an audit report documents the whole run.

Which documents are supported?

Documents in PDF and Word, PowerPoint presentations, and Excel or CSV spreadsheets.
